Hot or Cold with Yamaha 2w Oil

engineWeather affects a lot, doesn’t it? It can define what kind of mood you’re in, what activities you can participate in, and even how well your vehicles run. We all know to let our car engines run for a bit to warm up during those blistering winter conditions, but what differences come for those who own a boat and are operating under cool conditions?

On hot and humid days, you’re looking to lose as much as 14% of your horsepower. However, this doesn’t mean cold temperatures mean you’ll get even more horsepower. Much like your car, you can’t just blast out of there, but it does pose less trouble than a humid day. Proper maintenance with Yamaha 2w oil can really make the difference in protecting your engine from the ailments.

What Affects Performance Alongside Outboard Motor Oil

boat3It can be quite surprising to find out what things can actually affect how well your engine performs. Even where you store things or sit on a boat can significantly influence how well the engine runs. When the weight shifts to the rear, it can increase top speed. However, if too much weight is put in the back of the craft, the boat can porpoise.

So what happens if the weight is in the front? Planing off will be easier and it will improve rough water ride. However, if too much is in the front, the boat can veer left and right. Of course, really getting the most out of your engine means proper maintenance, such as buying the right outboard motor oil and other upkeep.

High Horsepower with Mercury 2 Cycle Oil

boat2When we made the decision to switch to a higher powered engine for our boat, I wasn’t expecting how complicated it would turn out to be. There is a much different way to take care of an engine that has more power than that of a lower quality alternatives. After years of owning pretty standard engineers, I was at a bit of a loss when it came to a DFI engine.

I decided to talk to my friend who is a mechanic. He told me I was completely over thinking it. At the end of the day, the most important thing was to find the right mercury 2 cycle oil that would help the engine last longer. Anything else was just about the same as any other engine I had owned throughout the years.

Continuing Top Performance with Evinrude XD 50 Oil

boatMy husband gets really into our new purchases when we first make them. He feels that the first couple weeks you own anything defines how well it will work for the remainder of the time you use it. While he’s right when it comes to electronics or vehicles, it can get a little concerning when he applies the same theory to a new knife set.

His precautions at the beginning of ownership have definitely made our outboard engine last much longer than some of my friends. I think my friends have had to replace their engines at least once each since we first bought ours. When our friends ask him how he does it, he just says he uses Evinrude XD 50 oil. I don’t think he wants to give up his maintenance routine.

Yamalube 2W for a Personal Watercraft

Domo-Online Pic 2 1292013Boats can be a bit of a hassle if you don’t have space for them at your home. There’s really no room for a boat at my house or on my driveway; I know that if I purchase a boat, I’ll have to rent out a storage facility for it and that’ll cost me money monthly that I don’t want to have to spend. I love the water, however, which is why I chose to purchase a personal watercraft.

Having a personal watercraft like a Waverunner is perfect for me, because I have enough room in my garage and I don’t have to worry about getting a truck that can handle pulling a boat around; I just need to be able to bring it around in a trailer. I always make sure to purchase oil that’s specific for my personal watercraft, so I keep a stock of Yamalube 2W on hand at all times.

Why I Use Yamalube Ringfree Plus

Domo-Online Pic 3 1292013Even when I was a kid, I wanted to have my own boat. As soon as I was able to afford a decent one, I bought my first boat and I haven’t looked back since. I can’t even imagine what my life would be like without a boat; I take it out as often as possible and I live somewhere that’s warm enough where that means I take it out on the water quite frequently.

Having a boat for so long has allowed me to learn quite a bit about its maintenance. I always make sure to use Yamalube products when it comes to my boat’s oil. I also choose to use a fuel additive called Yamalube Ringfree Plus alongside my oil, because it makes my boat run better and it will allow my boat to stay in good shape for a longer time.

Mercury Outboard Oil Reminds Me of Summer

Domo-Online Pic 4 1292013I can’t tell you how much I loathe winter. I’m a person who used to live in Florida, so spending time in Washington and dealing with genuinely cold winters has been pretty unpleasant for me. Not only do I hate the cold, but I really don’t like how many of my favorite activities have to be put on hold while I wait for the weather to warm up again.

In particular, the activity that I miss the most is being able to take my boat out on the water. There are a lot of really nice lakes out here, but I can’t do anything about it until summer rolls back around. I’m always ready for summer, however. I keep plenty of Mercury outboard oil stored in my garage while I wait for this wretched season to be over with.

Learning about Boats and Evinrude Johnson 2 Stroke Outboard Oil

Domo-Online Pic 1 1292013When you get a boat for the first time, it’s easy to get a little overwhelmed with all of the information that you need to know. Some people purchase a boat without considering how much they should know about boating beforehand. You should know all of the laws about boating and fishing in your area, obviously, before you take a boat somewhere you’re not supposed to.

Additionally, you should learn a bit about your boat’s maintenance and the type of oil it takes. Some research should be done to determine what the best brand of oil is for your particular engine. I exclusively use Evinrude Johnson 2 stroke outboard oil, but I had to make sure to put the time in to figure this out so that I could ensure that my boat was running the best it possibly could.

Trying to Find WaveRunner Oil

WaveRunner oilAfter a few years of going to our lake house every summer that we all shared payments on, I talked to my sisters about getting a WaveRunner. It never seemed like a worthy investment of our money but now that we were hanging out on a lake every year and we had already paid off the other expenses of the house, it seemed like a good time to buy one.
We decided to get two and all chip in equally. Between four of us, it was really affordable. To break in the new water vehicles, we all took a week vacation with each other (first time since we bought the house!). Using the vehicles was pretty easy but we felt pretty dumb when we didn’t know where to get WaveRunner oil and had to call my husband (it was the store two blocks away; go figure).  Now we buy it online and have it shipped to the lake house.  It’s much easier that way!

Lost without Yamaha Outboard Oil

domo online blog 5 12-16-13My uncle’s boat always seemed to break down at the most inconvenient times. We would be out on an island in the middle of the San Juan Islands and suddenly it would sputter and die. In a car, breaking down can be annoying, but it is usually easy to call a tow truck and get help. This is not the case with a boat. When a boat breaks down, it can be dangerous.

Most of the time, my uncle didn’t have to worry, because my Grandpa’s boat was able to tow him. My grandpa also kept boating essentials, such as Yamaha outboard oil, on his boat, so that my uncle would have these items if he needed them. My uncle didn’t like to take his boat out by himself, because he felt as if he would be lost without my grandpa’s help.

What is Ringfree Plus?

YLB-RNGFR-PL-12I have to be honest; I’m one of those boat owners who has no idea what I’m talking about. My husband does all the shopping and decision making when it comes to our outboard motor because frankly, none of the different lingo or descriptions sound like different products to me. All I know is that there are oils that work with my motor, and some that don’t.

When my husband decided we should start buying Ringfree plus, I made the mistake of asking what the difference was. He told me for over 20 minutes. All I gather is that it’s one of the best Ethanol fuel options in a highly concentrated formula, and we only need one ounce of it for 10 gallons of gasoline. It also protects our fuel system. I’ll let him be the one to actually use it, though.

Live Greener with Yamalube 2W Oil

domo-online blog 5 12-30-13Over my lifetime, there has been more emphasis on treating the environment the right way. With the discover of global warming and the impact that humans are having on the world that we live in, governments have tried to find new ways for people to consume less and limit their impact. In my family, this meant a lot of changes initially.

My mother decided that we would use glass milk containers rather than plastic, because these could be recycled more easily. In general, we began recycling everything more and trying to drive less. When my dad took his Jet Ski out on the water, he would use Yamalube 2W oil rather than anything else, because it produced less smoke and less water pollution.
