Clean Up Your Motor with Ringfree Plus Fuel Additive

domo-online blog 3 1-20-14Even when you care for your engine as much as possible, gasoline and oils will begin to leave a build up in your engine over time. This isn’t that different from the way that plaque builds up on the inside of human arteries. In time, this build up can cause problems by clogging lines or breaking different pieces of the motor if it breaks free.

Luckily, you can clean out the lines of your engine much more easily than you can unclog an artery. You can add ringfree plus fuel additive and let it clean up your engine for you. It will dissolve deposits and clean the different valves and chambers of your engine. This will protect your engine and make it run for longer than it would otherwise.

Better Prices on Bulk Mercury OptiMax Oil

domo-online blog 1 1-20-14The dip in the economy has affected many people. Almost everyone is looking for a way to save just a little bit of extra money. For some people, this might mean that they aren’t eating out as much or that they’re driving their cars less. For other people, it might mean that they’re trying to make sure that they write off as much as they can on their taxes.

Even when money is tighter, there is no reason to give up what you love. If you like to get out on your boat once in a while, you shouldn’t let high gas and oil prices stop you. To save money, you can buy bulk Mercury OptiMax oil, instead of buying it in small amounts. Just like you can save money by buying that gallon jar of pickles, you can save money by buying bulk oil.

Conserving Oil with Evinrude XD 100 Oil

domo online blog 2 1-13-14My father’s boat has always been a little bit temperamental. Sometimes, when he tries to get the engine running, it coughs and fails to start. Other times, the steering doesn’t want to work very well and he has to fight it to get it working. Depending on the oil he is using, it also smokes badly.

To fix the oil problem he switched his boat over to using Evinrude XD 100 oil. Since the switch, his engine has run better and cleaner than ever. Best of all, he isn’t buying oil nearly as much as he was before. He likes this because it is better for the environment and more cost effective.

Replacing WaveRunner Oil

domo online blog 3 1-13-14At the beginning of each summer, my uncle stocks up on oil for his WaveRunner personal watercraft. When he first got them, he had to ask one of his friends what type of oil to you and how often to change it.  While my uncle understands a car engine very well, he is less sure when it comes to the engines that are on these little boats. After his friend was able to compose himself from laughing at him, he explained that they had two cycle engines and you don’t have to change the oil, just refill it.  The oil is consumed in the combustion process.  Keep it full and you are good to go.

These engines require specific WaveRunner oil that is designed for these two-cycle use. If you use any other type of oil, you will more than likely ruin the engine and void your warranty.

Oil Change with Yamalube

domo online blog 4 1-13-14This weekend, I got my car’s oil changed. I have always found it extremely convenient that I can just drive up to a business that advertises oil changes and have them do the oil change for me. The price is always reasonable and they usually check to make sure that my car is still running well. They always let me know if there are any issues.

Luckily, I don’t have to mess with that on my dad’s boat.  It is a 2-cycle Yamaha, which just requires us to add Yamalube to the reservoir. This is much simpler than getting the oil changed on my car.

Comparing Yamalube 2m Oil and Yamalube 2w

domo online blog 5 1-13-14When it comes to different types of oil, the differences can seem so minor that you might choose to substitute one type of oil for a different one, simply for the convenience of a better price or what is readily available. When it comes to 2m and 2w oil, these are two completely different formulations and using the wrong one can cause damage to your engine.

You will find that Yamalube 2w oil is specially formulated for hi revving, small personal watercraft, while Yamalube 2m oil is a synthetic blend specifically designed for an outboard engine. The two oils are not interchangeable, as 2w is not a TC-W3 certified oil.

Long Lasting Evinrude Oil

domo online blog 1 1-13-14I always used to think that any oil that I’d had sitting around for a long time, was probably useless. I guess my thought was that since this is the case with gasoline, oil would work the same way. I know that gasoline slowly deteriorates over time. It becomes not only unusable, but also dangerous to use in an engine because its formula begins to break down.

With high quality motor oil, such as Evinrude oil, you needn’t worry if the oil is a little old. As long as it is a type of oil that your motor is made to use, the oil should not have degraded to the point where it is unusable or dangerous for your engine. Even if oil is left in its original container for a few years, it can still be used in your boat engine.

Don’t Accept Substitutions for Evinrude XD100 Oil

domo-online blog 1 12-30-13When you spend a lot of money on a boat, it just makes sense to spend money to maintain it properly. Would you buy a new car and then fill the engine with subpar oil? Your boats engine is no different. If you spend the money on the equipment, than there is no reason to let it fall apart by using a slightly cheaper substitute for the right kind of oil.

Boat’s engines are set to a certain type of oil. They can be reset to accommodate different types, if that is what you choose. However, if you’re trying to substitute a different type of oil for something like Evinrude XD100 oil, than you have to make sure that your boat has already been reset to use this other type. Failing to do so, can void your warranty and harm your engine.

Winter Adventures with Snowmobile Oil

domo-online blog 2 12-30-13My cousin has a snowmobile that he takes out every winter. When the snow in the mountains gets deep enough, he and a couple of friends take their snowmobiles up to the mountains to race around in the snow. I have always admired their bravery because I personally don’t like to zip around on small single passenger devices.

Since he bought his snowmobile, he has had to learn a lot about how to maintain it, so that he can keep it going as long as possible. One thing that he learned was that snowmobile oil is all very different. As an owner of a snowmobile, he had to learn which brand to use to keep his engine running well and too create less exhaust fumes that might make him sick or dizzy.

Saving the Day with Mercury Engine Oil

Motors cannot run without oil. Scratch that. Motors cannot run without oil for very long. They definitely cannot run without it for very long in a safe way, that will not break the engine. This is why it is so problematic when an engine has an oil leak. For most boat motors it is a good idea to change the oil at the beginning of every boating season.

My father always drained the oil out of his boat each winter. He would let the boat sit empty during the winter and then replace the oil in the spring when he was ready to use the boat again. This worked perfectly, until he forgot to fill it. He got the boat to the launch before he realized it was empty. He had to call me to bring him Mercury engine oil so that he could take the boat out safely.

Make Your Oil Perform Better with Optimax Oil

domo-online blog 4 12-23-13Not all engines are built the same. This can be seen easily with boats and cars. Walking down the isle of an auto store can give you some idea of all the variations in parts and fluids required by differing engines. Some require different types of oil. For two stroke outboard boat engines, the right oil can result in an increase in fuel economy, cleaner exhaust and more power.

Higher performance boat engines run better when the oil that was formulated for that specific engine is used.  Using Optimax oil in your Mercury 2-stroke engine will help maintain the performance your investment.

Reasons to Choose Yamaha 2m Oil

domo-online blog 3 12-23-13When you choose oil for your boat engine, want something that will perform well and maintain the performance of your boat. You don’t want to choose oil that leads to problems with your engine later on that might cost more than you saved on that cheap engine oil.

As a good compromise, my father discovered that Yamaha 2m oil was a good fit for his outboard motor. He found that he could get it for a reasonable price and the piece of mind he received from using the correct oil was worth the little extra he paid for it. When he used the oil, he never had any problems with it. It was perfectly made for his Yamaha outboard engine so he knew that he could trust it.
