Borrowing Yamalube from my Father this Year

domo online blog 5 5-12-14At the end of the boating season last year, my father and I went out on one last trip to the bay before winterizing our boats. We spent an entire day racing around the bay and enjoying the waves and the islands before finally turning back to the boat launch. I was the first to haul in my boat, but I waited to say goodbye to my father before going home.

During our parting conversation, I mentioned stopping at a store on the way home to pick up some Yamalube oil for my boat. My father said that I ought to just come over to his house, because he’d bought his in bulk this year and would have plenty for both of us. I was willing to take him up on his offer and have this years boating powered by his oil.

Yamalube 2-M Offers Preventative Care as Well as Lubrication

domo online blog 4 5-5-14It can be very tempting to purchase generic oil for your boat, since generics are often so much cheaper than brand name oils. What is important to remember is that there is a reason that generics are cheaper than oils with a name brand. There is a level of quality in name brand oils that cheaper oils do not have because they have a different formula.

For example, regular TC-W3 oil might work just fine in your outboard for a certain length of time. However, it doesn’t do the preventative care that Yamalube 2-M does. This oil helps to guard your motor against ring stick and carbon build up that can prevent your motor from working as well over time. If you are willing to spend the money on a good motor, you should spend money to protect that motor as well.

Yamaha 2m Oil for a Small Outboard Motor

domo online blog 5 4-28-15My neighbor recently purchased a small Yamaha outboard motor for a small boat that he had purchased to take out on the lake that is by our houses. Since he doesn’t really know much about boat motors, he has been reading his user’s manual religiously and bringing it with him down to the dock. He follows every single direction that is given to him by the manual.

I watched him struggling to balance the manual while he was also adding Yamaha 2m oil to the motor. I asked him if he wanted any help, since I know a thing or two about motor maintenance, but he was convinced that the owner’s manual would tell him everything that he needed to know. So far he has been doing pretty well with his new motor. I’m just afraid he might crash his boat into something while his nose is buried in the manual.

Storing Some Yamalube Oil for Next Year

domo online blog 5 4-21-14At the end of the boating season last year, my uncle was getting prepared to winterize his boat. He had purchased an oil pump and oil already and was prepared to winterize when one of his friends asked if they could take the boat out one more time before the end of the season. My uncle was hesitant, but decided that there was no harm in one last run of the season.

When they took the boat out, the engine started making funny noises and died several miles from the dock. Some helpful boater helped them get back to shore and get the boat back on its trailer. A trip to the repair shop showed that the motor couldn’t be repaired. My uncle decided to wait until spring to buy a new one and packed the Yamalube oil and oil pump away for the next season.

A New Season to Try Out Yamaha 2M Oil

domo online blog 4-7-14One of my friends has used generic oil in his boat for the last several seasons because after spending the money on the boat as well as getting it launched, there wasn’t much cash left for oil. At the end of last season, his motor was starting to sound odd so he took it in to be prepared. It turned out that the motor was pretty gummed up from the generic oil.

He ended up having the motor de-carbed and started to use Yamaha 2M oil. This year he is finally going to get a chance to run his engine with the new oil that he is trying. He is hopeful that the oil will work a lot better, since in the long run, he spent more on the repairs than he did on the oil.

Yamaha 2w Oil for a Summer of WaveRunner Adventures

domo online blog 5 3-31-14Last summer, my brother bought himself a WaveRunner to take out the lake that is a couple of miles from his house. He spent a lot of time taking his girlfriend out on the lake and enjoying the cool spray of the water while they raced around. Of course at this point his boat has been winterized for a long time.

Next weekend, he is thinking that he will work on his WaveRunner to get it ready for the new season. The weather has been getting a lot better and spring is definitely here. He has already bought some Yamaha 2w oil for his Yamaha WaveRunner. He just needs a warm day to take the WaveRunner out on the lake again.

Yamalube 2m for a Two Stroke Engine

domo online blog 5 3-24-14When my brother was first shopping for outboard motors, he was considering a lot of different options. Some of his friends who had boats told him that he should look at Yamaha outboard motors, because they had had really good experiences with the motors they owned. This was the type of motor that my brother ended up choosing.

Since his outboard motor is a two stroke engine, he would have to find a good two stroke oil to use with it. He very quickly chose Yamalube 2m because this was the oil that was listed in the user manual for his engine. He wasn’t a very experienced boater at the time, so he just went with the easy option. He has never regretted his choice though.

Where to Buy Cheap Yamaha Oil

domo online blog 4 3-24-14My brother has always sworn by Yamaha oil, because it is the exact same brand as the motor that he uses on his boat. He trusts oil that is made by the same manufacturer, because they are bound to know their product better than any other company. Using the oil also keeps his outboard motor under warranty, which is important.

The only problem with Yamaha oil is that it can be sort of expensive. Over time, my brother has learned not to buy the oil from the marina, where prices are almost always high. Instead, he buys all of his oil from online sites. The oil costs a lot less. He is able to actually afford quality oil because of this.

Preparing for the Fishing Season with Yamalube 2m Oil

domo online blog 5 3-17-14The beginning of the spring fishing season is going to start next month and my father has already begun to prepare for the season opening. He has started by getting a fishing license for the season and filling his tackle box with all of the lures and hooks that he plans to use during this fishing season. He even bought a fresh jar of bait.

Next week, he is planning to take the cover off of his boat and get it ready for the season as well. This means buying Yamalube 2m oil and cleaning out the motor. He also plans to wash the boat down to make it look nice for opening day. He has a special scrubber to remove last years fish scales from his boat and leave the whole thing shiny.

Which Yamalube Oil Do I Choose?

domo online blog 4 3-17-14In a Yamaha outboard motor, there is no real substitute to using oil that is specifically designed for these motors. Yamaha makes both motors and oil. When you put the two together, you get an engine that is running well for years to come, without anything to worry about on your part. It is also a great way to make sure you don’t void the warranty.

Of course, there are several different types of Yamalube oil. You need to make sure that you are getting the right one for your boat. If the motor is a 2 stroke engine, then you need to use the Yamaha oil that is designed for these engines. There is even oil designed by Yamaha that is specifically for WaveRunners.

Yamalube 2W Oil is for Personal Watercraft, Not Outboard Motors

domo online blog 3 3-3-14With all of the numbers and letters on different types of oil, it is no wonder people become confused. There are so many different types of oil and that is before you start looking at specific formulas and brand names. In a single marina shop, there could be several shelves filled with different types of oil that could potentially be needed at the pier.

You really need to make sure that you research your motor and different types of oil, before you decide to put something in your boat. For example, Yamalube 2W oil is a great oil to use in most personal watercraft, like Sea-doos and Jet Skis. However this does not mean that it should be used in an outboard motor. Make sure you check your user manual for oils that are right for your motor.

Arguing About Everything But Yamalube 2-M

domo online blog 2 3-3-14My father and my uncle both love to go fishing. They each have their own boat. Oftentimes, they will take their boats out together and go on fishing trips right next to each other to see who can catch the most fish. Both of them are excellent fishermen, so the competition is always fierce. I suppose that makes sense since they are brothers after all.

They don’t agree on many things. My grandma says that they never have. One thing that they do agree on is the fact that Yamalube 2-M is the best oil for their boats. They have never had any problem with the oil and always use it in their boat motors. As for when to add oil or how to do maintenance on other parts of the motor, they could not agree less.
