Changing Your Boat Motor Oil

4d5d43_55893a3319e6911874a50252611a4b42.jpg_512Learning how to change the oil in my boat’s outboard motor has ultimately saved me so much time and money, because I don’t have to take it in to mechanics and spend a fortune having someone else do something so simple. Obviously, it’s quite a bit different from changing a car’s oil, but it’s still something that’s absolutely worth learning overall.

Generally, learning how to change the oil is something that is described in the manual that was purchased with the boat or with the outboard. The overall process tends to be draining the boat motor oil completely and then adding the oil from the drain hole. Once you’ve figured out to do these things, you’re pretty much able to change your boat’s oil!

Lakeside with Mercury 2 Stroke Oil

sloaneboatLiving on the side of a lake has a huge number of benefits, especially when summertime rolls around. There are all kinds of great things that we can do when guests come over. Obviously, we’re able to go for a swim out there, which is really nice. We’re also able to go fishing whenever we want. However, the most fun thing for us to do is to take people out on our boat.

Since our gatherings with friends are often more impromptu than they are planned, we like to make sure that our boat is always properly maintained. That’s why we always make sure to keep a solid stock of Mercury 2 stroke oil on hand so that the boat is always in good shape before we take it out for a spin on the lake with our friends.

Remembering Mercury Oil

20130302_011400_herringI have trouble remembering names. This isn’t something that just happens when I meet people, but I also struggle when it comes to remembering the names of songs or movies or brands. Sometimes this can become a real issue, but I’ve learned to better remember names by associating names with something and coming up with mnemonics or other tricks.

For instance, I was out the other day shopping for some things for my boat. I couldn’t remember the outboard motor oil that I like using for my boat, but luckily I had used association techniques to remember it. I had somehow associated ‘boat oil’ with ‘hot planet’ and remembered that it was Mercury oil that I preferred to use on my boat.

Former Surfer Uses Mercury Outboard Oil

Mercury-Marine-2Surfing was something I used to do a lot when I was younger; it really developed an intense love of water for me. I sustained a leg injury and haven’t been able to properly surf ever since then, which was something that really upset me, but one injury certainly couldn’t keep me away from the open water, even if I can’t surf anymore like I used to.

These days, the primary time that I spend out on the water is on my boat. Obviously, it doesn’t give me quite the thrill of surfing, but I still love the water so much that I’m always willing to lounge around or go fishing with my friends. If I’m not out on my boat, I’m usually working on it and fixing it up, which is why I’ve got a good stock of Mercury outboard oil.

Mercury Premium Plus for Family Fishing Trips

936916_10151586548630867_637457102_nMy father passed away when I was younger, so I wound up spending a lot of time with my uncles, who really became my male role models as I grew up. They showed me how to do all kinds of things; they took me on my first hunting trip and they took me camping for the first time. Our favorite thing to do together, however, was to go fishing.

These days, I live further away from my uncles than I did when I was a kid. However, we still always find times during the year to organize fishing trips. I have my own boat now, which is something I had always wanted, and I’ve got all the Mercury Premium Plus that I need to make sure that my boat always stays in the best possible condition.

The Trusted Brands of Outboard Motor Oil

mercury-outboard-propellersThere are a lot of different brands of outboard motor oil that should be browsed through when you are looking to do maintenance on your boat. Some of the brands that are out there are cheap and cannot necessarily be vouched for and they may be knock-off brands. These should generally be avoided, as you cannot trust a brand that is not well-known when it comes to your boat.

Some of the brands of outboard motor oil that can definitely be trusted include such well-known brands as Mercury, Evinrude, and Yamaha. These are some of the most trusted brands in the industry, which is why they are generally endorsed by many boat manufacturers. You don’t want to shirk on costs when it comes to making sure your boat is maintained.

Seafarers Love To Use Mercury 2 Cycle Oil

1030632085_20f0e0fea9I’ve always been a bit sea-obsessed. When I was a kid, my favorite movie was Finding Nemo and sharks have always been my favorite animal. Even though I have a love for interesting fish, I also enjoy the sport of fishing because I don’t think loving fish and loving fishing have to be mutually exclusive. Seafood is probably my favorite food, so I can’t really resist it.

Needless to say, my love for the sea and for fishing has led me to become an experienced boater as well. My parents have had a boat for a long time.  I learned to drive it as early as I could. I’m learning how to maintain boats and work on them as well, whether they need Mercury 2 cycle oil or another kind of tune-up.

Mercury Engine Oil Fuels Boating Experiences

012There’s really nothing better than taking your boat out on a warm day. A lot of people ask me how it is I enjoy boating considering I’m not really interested in fishing. Some of my friends are big fishermen and whenever they take their boats out, they’re usually doing it just to go fishing. Personally, I’ve never been a big fan of fishing but I love being out on the water.

Sometimes I’ll take the boat somewhere that I can swim around or I’ll just cruise around in my boat for a while. I think that you can have a lot of fun in a boat even if you aren’t going fishing. Because I like taking my boat out so often, I always make certain to keep everything ready with its maintenance, and I keep stocked up on Mercury engine oil to keep things running smoothly.

Using Mercury 2 Stroke Oil With My Brother

dogsbodecMy twin brother and I always like to plan fishing trips together. It reminds us of the times when we were kids and our grandfather would take us out fishing. My brother and I live pretty close to one another, so we are able to get prepared together too. He has a large garage and workshop area, so I usually take my boat over there.

We work on the boat together and make sure that everything is in the best possible condition. We use Mercury 2 stroke oil to maintain my boat, which has a 2 stroke engine. We also clean the boat together and make sure that we both have all of the supplies that we are going to need before our fishing trip. It’s always good to be prepared.

Mercury Oil Fuels Great Pastimes

civicconcet 359One of my favorite foods is properly cooked salmon. Whenever I decide to cook up some salmon, I always try to make a new and interesting dish with it, because I really love cooking; I would say it is one of my favorite pastimes. Sometimes I’ll make a grilled salmon and spinach salad with peach dressing; other times I’ll prepare some salmon chowder with bacon.

My other favorite pastime is going fishing, so the two really go hand in hand, because I love to catch my own salmon. I get to be involved with the entire process; filling my boat up with Mercury oil, going out and fishing for some salmon, and then bringing it home and coming up with some new recipe that my wife and kids will enjoy as much as I do.

Saving Time With A Mercury Oil 55 Gallon Drum

$(KGrHqQOKo8E4i7FdKrbBOTWLzF91!~~48_35Sometimes my father can be a little bit too set in his ways. He gets stuck with one way of do something until a better way is forced upon him. There have been a number of times where my mother or I have had to just change something and force him to get used to it. He always acts annoyed at first, but usually realizes the change was worthwhile.

For instance, I started to notice that he was always going out and buying more motor oil for his boat, which seemed like a waste of time. I chose to buy him a Mercury oil 55 gallon drum so he was always well stocked and wouldn’t have to keep going out to get more before hitting the water. He was hesitant at first, but now he continues to buy bulk oil in barrels.

Search and Rescue with Mercury Optimax Oil

VAKTA-SAR-123My brother is on a search and rescue team that’s particularly focused on people who get stranded at sea, on islands, or anywhere off-shore. When someone goes missing at sea, it’s his duty to look for them by searching a certain perimeter based on the evidence at hand.

Of course he and his team have a very nice boat, which allows them to move quickly and cover as much of the area as possible. Because of the importance of this mission, he makes certain that his boat is well-maintained with Mercury Optimax oil at all times, because time is of the essence.
